Language for Planned Gifts:

Bequest Language - In order to create a bequest, please contact your attorney. Your attorney will help you create a bequest to The Simon House, Inc. in your estate plan. Here is some common bequest language that may be helpful to your attorney.

Percentage Bequest - Planning on making a gift of a percentage bequest to The Simon House Inc.? Use the following language:
“I hereby give, devise and bequeath ________ percent of my total estate, determined as of the date of my death, to The Simon House Inc., a nonprofit organization located at 231 East Main Street, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40601, Federal Tax ID 61-1118813, for The Simon House Inc’s general use and purpose.”

Specific Bequest  - Planning to make an outright bequest to the Simon House Inc.? Use the following language:  

Bequest of a Specific Dollar Amount:
“I hereby give, devise and bequeath _________ and NO/100 dollars ($DOLLARS) to The Simon House Inc., a nonprofit organization located at 231 East Main Street, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40601, Federal Tax ID 61-1118813, for The Simon House Inc’s general use and purpose.”

Bequest of Specific Personal Property:
“I hereby give, devise and bequeath DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPERTY to The Simon House Inc., a nonprofit organization located at 231 East Main Street, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40601, Federal Tax ID 61-1118813, for The Simon House Inc’s general use and purpose.”

Bequest of Specific Real Estate:
“I hereby give, devise and bequeath all of the right, title and interest in and to the real estate located at ADDRESS and/or DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPERTY to The Simon House Inc., a nonprofit organization located at 231 East Main Street, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40601, Federal Tax ID 61-1118813, for The Simon House Inc’s general use and purpose.”  

Residual Bequest - Planning to leave a residual gift from your estate? Use this language:
“I hereby give, devise and bequeath to The Simon House Inc., a nonprofit organization located at 231 East Main Street, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40601, Federal Tax ID 61-1118813, ALL OR A PERCENTAGE of the rest , residue and remainder of my estate to be used for The Simon House Inc’s general use and purpose.”

Contingent Bequest  - Planning on leaving a gift that is a contingency plan for your estate? Use this language:
“IF (primary beneficiary) does not survive me, then I hereby give, devise and bequeath to The Simon House Inc., a nonprofit organization located at 231 East Main Street, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40601, Federal Tax ID 61-1118813, DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPERTY, for The Simon House Inc’s general use and purpose.”
